Changelog

Clavus gets better
one release at a time.

Every released version of Clavus Server, Clavus Desktop and Clavus Mobile — and what actually changed once it reached you.

Clavus Mobile Build 51

  • Switching to Clavus with the globe key could leave a band of empty space above the keyboard — it came up at the previous keyboard's height. The keyboard now claims its own height at the moment the switch actually honors it.

Clavus Mobile Build 50

  • The keyboard sits flush on the system globe bar again. A band of dead space had opened up below the keys — visible under the hex board while typing, and as a gap under the recording controls while dictating.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.11

  • The assistant overlay recovers on its own when its page never managed to load — summoning it with < now reloads the page instead of presenting an empty glass pane until the app was restarted. That blank state could set in when the server was unreachable at launch, or when a background refresh landed on an error page.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.10

  • Settings → Connection test now lists every macOS permission Clavus needs — screen recording, input monitoring, accessibility, microphone and location — and says what stops working when one is missing, with a button that opens the right settings pane. Each of them used to fail in its own quiet way: the dictation shortcut working only while Clavus was in front, Insert leaving text on the clipboard, a recording whose transcript came back empty.

Clavus Server 1.0.14

  • Installing an update from your phone now brings the server back on its own. If the app didn't return after the swap, every service stayed down until someone walked over to the Mac and started it again.
  • An update that would need an administrator password is refused before anything stops, so the server keeps running and tells you what to change instead of going quiet.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.9

  • Screenshots of a rectangle or of another app used to do nothing at all when macOS hadn't given Clavus permission to record the screen. Clavus now says so instead of coming back empty-handed, and Settings → Connection test shows whether the permission is granted with a button that opens the right settings pane.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.8

  • Dictating in Clavus shows the live waveform again while you speak, the same one the recording widget shows.
  • Settings and the About window report the version you actually have installed.

Clavus Mobile Build 48

  • The keyboard comes up with its keys at full size every time. It could previously open a little smaller, with extra space around the board, depending on how it was opened.

Clavus Server 1.0.13

  • Your own messages render Markdown now, and pressing Enter continues a list while you write.
  • Approval requests appear as a card inside the conversation that asked for them, showing what will happen, with Allow kept apart from the other choices.
  • A conversation takes its title from your opening message instead of waiting for the reply.
  • Every step in a reply's action trail is named, with a compact list, a detail view, and long-press to copy.
  • The keyboard fits its personal correction model per install and per device, and correction now knows the hex layout, so repaired spaces stay repaired.
  • Cost figures for GPT-5.6 are accurate again.
  • When the web app cannot reach your Clavus Server it says so and reconnects on its own, instead of asking for a backend API token.
  • Preparing the server after an update is faster, needs far less disk space, and explains itself when it fails.

Clavus Mobile Build 46

  • The keyboard now comes up at its final height straight away, so the space above the board no longer changes between one open and the next.

Clavus Mobile Build 45

  • The keyboard's personal correction model is now fitted per device, so corrections match the board you are actually typing on.

Clavus Server 1.0.12

  • Conversation starter cards now stay in sync across devices and reliably show when their Thread has already been started.
  • Engine and model pickers use denser one-line choices and make better use of the available screen height.
  • Delegated work from a Ritual now stays linked inside its parent round and returns there when it is finished, instead of appearing as an extra round or ending the scheduled run too early.

Clavus Mobile Build 44

  • A downward swipe can now minimize the dictation view as well as the typing keyboard, with the recording ready when you reopen it.

Clavus Server 1.0.11

  • A round can ask several decision questions at once: answer each card, add free text where needed, then send the complete set together in one clear response.
  • Interactive question cards now appear as polished live previews while a reply is still streaming, without briefly exposing their underlying data.
  • Threads recover their earlier conversation context when an agent-side session has been lost, and interrupted replies keep their visible action trail.
  • Ritual rounds no longer remain stuck as Running after an interrupted run, and approvals for new plugin capabilities can be handled directly in Clavus.
  • Content shared into Clavus always opens in the visible main composer instead of disappearing into a hidden surface.
  • A Ritual can now have a private trigger link. Send it an event from a form, automation, or another service to start a round with that event as fresh context; Clavus queues overlapping events and lets you set a daily limit.
  • Each Ritual round now decides whether its result needs your attention. Useful outcomes can surface immediately, while routine upkeep stays quietly available in the Ritual history.
  • Queued follow-up messages now send exactly once, even when the same Thread is open on several Clavus surfaces or reconnects while a reply is being recovered.
  • Connection test now distinguishes an unavailable model probe from a broken chat connection, checks whether file context can actually be assembled, and warns before low disk space starts affecting saved work.
  • Transcripts now live in Settings, keeping Home focused on conversations and recurring work.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.6

  • Dictation in Clavus now uses the native desktop recorder, targets the focused answer field when a question card is open, and can refresh screen context as you scroll.
  • Screen context captured while scrolling now follows the window under the pointer, and desktop dictation shuts down cleanly if Clavus reloads.

Clavus Mobile Build 43

  • The empty space around the docked keyboard can now start a drag too, making repositioning easier without aiming for a key.

Clavus Mobile Build 42

  • Sharing into Clavus now waits for the app-open handoff to complete, making shared content more reliable.

Clavus Mobile Build 41

  • The keyboard's emoji, formatting, language, dictation, and editing controls now respond across their full visible buttons instead of requiring a tap directly on the small icon.
  • Deletion scrubbing now works across the open areas of the classic and emoji keyboards, making long corrections easier to start and control.

Clavus Server 1.0.10

  • Connection test now probes every chat model in the picker through your gateway, so a missing or misconfigured provider shows up as a clear error instead of a silently failing chat.

Clavus Server 1.0.9

  • A new Connection test in Settings checks your configured providers, speech services, and supporting services, then shows exactly what is working and where attention is needed.
  • When Clavus is waiting for parallel work to finish, the Thread now shows what it is waiting for and how long it has been running. Parked work also resumes more reliably when results arrive later or the server has restarted.

Clavus Server 1.0.8

  • Clavus can suggest moving a topic into its own Thread with a prepared first message. Nothing is created until you choose Start thread, and the suggestion becomes a link back to the new conversation afterward.
  • Accidentally marked a conversation Done or archived it? Command-Z on Mac or Control-Z elsewhere now reopens the most recently archived Thread when you are not editing text.
  • The reasoning control remains adjustable after Clavus routes a message automatically, so you can still choose a lighter or deeper pass for that Thread.
  • Thread titles are shorter and more stable: message-like placeholders become clear topic labels, while a good existing title stays put.
  • Wide code blocks and tables now take ownership of horizontal swipes on touch screens, making them easier to pan without dragging the whole conversation.
  • Messages started from Home now ask before joining an existing Thread, so a likely continuation is easy to confirm without being routed somewhere unexpectedly.
  • After a connection interruption, the Reconnecting indicator now clears as soon as the reply stream is attached again rather than lingering until a long answer finishes.
  • Suggested new Threads keep their real titles in Home previews and render reliably even when a response arrives in a compact format.
  • When Clavus recommends one choice in an interactive question, the option now carries a clear Recommended badge instead of burying the guidance in its description.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.5

  • Desktop updates now ship independently from Clavus Server, so fixes and improvements no longer need to wait for a coordinated release. Existing installations continue updating automatically.

Clavus Mobile Build 36

  • A dictation started from the Action Button now ends cleanly instead of leaving the session on hold.

Clavus Mobile Build 35

  • The scrub gesture now works across the empty area of the emoji favorites view, not only directly over an emoji.

Clavus Server 1.0.7

  • Trova can index notes for search across your configured languages, while handling files it cannot summarize more gracefully instead of repeatedly stalling the same work.

Clavus Mobile Build 34

  • The dictation Live Activity more clearly distinguishes Ready from Recording, opens Clavus when tapped, and disappears when instant keyboard dictation is no longer available.

Clavus Mobile Build 31

  • A long deletion scrub can now be restored in full, without losing earlier text or introducing line breaks that were never there.

Clavus Mobile Build 30

  • Keyboard deletion is faster and more predictable: drag for character-level control, or hold at the screen edge to remove whole words at a steady pace; moving away cleanly stops the repeat.

Clavus Server 1.0.6

  • Interactive questions are clearer after answering: selected choices remain checked, attached notes appear separately, and each card presents one clear send action.
  • Threads now open at the newest answer, while preserving your place when you return to a conversation that has not changed.
  • Web-search steps now show what was searched or opened, making the assistant's work easier to follow.
  • The Inbox follows real conversation activity: simply opening, favoriting, or renaming a Thread no longer moves it ahead of newer work.
  • Interactive questions accept longer free-text answers, and a selected option can carry an additional note without losing the selection.
  • Configured Apps stay visible through a brief connection failure and recover when Clavus comes back online.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.4

  • The menu bar now keeps a clear, timestamped update status visible after a check finishes.
  • Clavus Desktop now uses the same Paper and Clay app icon as the rest of the product.

Clavus Server 1.0.5

  • Fixes the app freezing — spinning cursor, stuck status popover, unresponsive Settings — on machines where network lookups were slow to answer. Those lookups now run in the background and never block the interface.
  • Open and favorite Threads now share one predictable Inbox, so relevant work no longer appears only after switching to a narrower filter.
  • Assistant replies sit directly on the paper instead of inside another glass bubble, giving conversations a calmer, more readable rhythm.
  • Expanded thinking stays open when you choose to inspect it after a reply has finished.
  • Recovered replies keep their visible action trail, and interrupted conversations resume with the model already chosen for that Thread.

Clavus Mobile Build 29

  • QWERTY now places Y and Z correctly.
  • Clavus Mobile now carries the unified Paper and Clay app icon.

Clavus Mobile Build 27

  • Switching between QWERTZ and QWERTY now takes effect the next time the keyboard opens.

Clavus Server 1.0.4

  • Subtasks are easier to follow: cards distinguish topics and recurring rounds, results expand in place, and feedback from the parent Thread stays visible.
  • The file area is now the Vault. Markdown from any writable workspace can open directly in the built-in editor, while read-only project files remain safely viewable.
  • Clavus Server can stage an update in the background and offer it when it is ready, instead of interrupting the work in progress.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.3

  • The Mac app checks for updates on launch and in the background, then lets you choose when to install.
  • Slidepad now stays open when the emoji picker takes focus.

Clavus Mobile Build 25

  • The Action Button now offers two focused shortcuts: Dictation and Ask Clavus.
  • Cursor movement from the keyboard trackpad is gentler and easier to control.

Clavus Mobile Build 23

  • A keyboard that is still missing Full Access now says so on a tappable pill that opens the right Settings screen.

Clavus Mobile Build 19

  • Connecting an iPhone to a chosen Clavus Server is clearer, including a prefilled server suggestion and a reliable route back when sign-in cannot complete.

Clavus Server 1.0.3

  • Long-running replies recover more quietly after a dropped connection, with fewer duplicate sends.
  • The desktop overlay received a calmer, more readable visual treatment for its title and popovers.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.2

  • Connecting to a Clavus Server behind an access-protected address now recognises the server correctly instead of stopping at the sign-in redirect.

Clavus Mobile Build 15

  • The keyboard is less likely to introduce an accidental capital in the middle of a word, and emoji favorites no longer show duplicate variants.

Clavus Server 1.0.2

  • Clavus Server became available as a normal, notarized download, so it can be installed without repository access.
  • Ritual instructions are ordinary editable Markdown documents. Every run opens as a Thread you can revisit, continue, and refine.
  • Ritual and transcript links now survive reloads and open directly to the right detail view.
  • Vault search can be scoped to a folder, making it easier to find the right source inside a larger workspace.
  • Dictation language detection is more reliable when personal names or vocabulary could otherwise bias the result.
  • Slidepad gained smoother selection, more reliable dictation insertion, synced edits across devices, and better image-link handling.
  • Claude Opus 5 is available in the model controls.
  • Comparison cards now keep long fact values readable instead of letting them overflow.

Clavus Desktop 1.0.1

  • The notarized Mac app became available as a normal download.
  • The desktop app can connect to the Clavus Server you choose at first launch, without requiring a custom build.
  • Desktop shortcuts can be customized, and native setup and settings windows are easier to bring forward when needed.

Clavus Mobile Build 13

  • The iPhone app can now be configured for a chosen Clavus Server at first launch, keeping the same app usable across self-hosted setups.
  • Emoji selection and sentence-end autocorrect are more reliable in the Clavus keyboard.
